A recent Pennsylvania car accident has left a high school student dead. The car accident happened on Interstate 84 last week.
The car crash occurred in Dingman Township, Pennsylvania. Prior to the accident, the 17-year-old student was attending camp in the Poconos. The vehicle was driven by another teenager from out of state, and the young tennis star was riding as a passenger. Suddenly, the driver lost control of the car, and the vehicle spun out of control.
The car slammed into a guardrail on the side of the road and ricocheted back into the path of a semi-truck. The tractor-trailer crashed into the vehicle, causing the 17-year-old to sustain severe injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there. The teenage driver survived the car accident.
According to friends, relatives and staff members at his high school, he was an admirable teenager that was exceptional at tennis. He had gone to the state finals as part of a doubles team last year. He was striving to make it to the state championship on his own this year.
A friend and fellow tennis player said that he respected anyone and everyone that he played. According to his coach, he was set to be the top player on the team. His family is mourning the loss of the 17-year-old, who was going to be a senior in high school this fall.
This accident is a sad reminder of the tragedy and trauma that so often accompany car accidents. This family is not alone in the grief it has experienced from the loss of a son and brother. Many people are killed every year in Pennsylvania because of car crashes. Hopefully drivers across the state will remember these stories and take extra care to drive safely.
