Car accident involving school bus injures Philadelphia kids

We stop when we see school bus lights flashing, both because the law requires it and because we know those flashing lights mean that children could be darting out into traffic. We certainly do not want to hurt children in a pedestrian accident.

Even so, it is not unusual to feel that little bit of impatience with the situation, especially when we are in a hurry. That impatience can also extend to moments when we are stuck traveling behind one of the slow, lumbering vehicles. We just want to get around it and get on with our day. It is normal to feel impatient in such situations, but it is important to maintain one’s composure and avoid driving aggressively around a school bus, whether or not it is stopped. A sudden lack of good judgment could result in a car wreck.

One Philadelphia man learned that lesson the hard way when he was involved in a recent car accident. He smashed into a local school bus after speeding up and attempting to get around it.  Although no one was seriously injured, several children were transported to local hospitals to be treated for minor injuries.

Two men were in the vehicle when the car crash occurred, both of whom exited the car immediately after the accident. Witnesses say that one man was driving, but each man told police that it was the other.

The investigation remains ongoing as to the cause of the school bus crash and which man was driving the car when the crash occurred. Regardless of which man was behind the wheel, the driver will certainly face consequences, including possible criminal charges and personal injury lawsuits from the victims, of whom there were reportedly several.

Anyone who is injured in a car accident should be aware that they may have the right to receive compensation for their injuries if they were caused by the negligence of another.
