Recently, Internet powerhouse Amazon.com was under fire for the working environment at its fulfillment center in Pennsylvania. The reportedly unsafe working environment, which included high temperatures and pressure to work at a high speed, was fixed by the company recently, and its workplace injury rate is now reportedly lower than those of other fulfillment centers across the nation.

9 killed in Pennsylvania accidents over Labor Day weekend

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, more than 350 people were injured in car accidents between the dates of September 2 and September 5 this year. The 783 collisions that occurred over Labor Day weekend injured 351 individuals and killed nine others. More than half of these recent fatalities were caused by car crashes in which alcohol was directly involved. Eighty of the 783 accidents involved alcohol somehow.

More than 4,500 fatal workplace accidents reported in 2010

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of fatal workplace accidents from 2009 to 2010 went down very slightly. In 2010, 4,547 individuals lost their lives to a fatal workplace injury. In 2009, the number was barely higher at 4,551.

Pennsylvania man flees police, crashes into trooper

A 31-year-old man, trying to elude police in a high-speed chase, ended his attempted escape after causing a car crash between his vehicle and a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser. The trooper inside sustained injuries, but they were not life-threatening. The crash occurred in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

Wrongful death lawsuit filed in trucking accident

One woman, living as a U.S. citizen in Ontario, Canada, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit over a truck accident that led to the death of her husband in 2009. The accident happened in Pennsylvania and allegedly involved four different companies.

1 injured in Pennsylvania drunk driving crash

A suspected drunk driving accident led to the arrest of one driver and the hospitalization of another. The accident happened in Wall Township, Pennsylvania, recently and closed part of Belmar Boulevard for more than 12 hours.
