Recent high school graduate dies in Pennsylvania Turnpike crash

An accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike has taken the life of an 18-year-old woman. Her death, which came earlier this month, was the result of a truck accident that occurred in the early morning near the exit for King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

The 18-year-old female was driving a vehicle with an 18-year-old male. They had been traveling west on the turnpike when they crashed into a cement barrier. While standing outside their vehicle, a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck slammed on its brakes. The 75-year-old driver of the truck may have attempted to avoid the vehicle, but the right front of his truck collided with the teens' car. Investigators believe that the collision caused the vehicle to slam into the two teenagers who were outside of their vehicle.

Emergency responders had the two teens taken to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital by helicopter between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. The next day, the woman died due to complications caused by the accident. Attempts to find out the current status of the male were futile as medical officials declined the release of his information. He is from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and graduated from North Penn in 2011.

A 2011 Central Bucks West graduate herself, the 18-year-old had planned on transferring from Montgomery County Community College to Temple University to further her education in the arts. She was from New Britain Township, Pennsylvania. Friends and relatives have openly stated their sorrow and will miss her very much.
