Police say Easton man arrested for drunk driving spat on officer

When Pennsylvanians consume an excessive amount of alcohol, their behavior may become uncontrollable and unpredictable. Unfortunately, when they have reached this point, they may be unable to make wise decisions when it comes to drinking and driving. When law enforcement is able to recognize and stop a drunk driver before he has the opportunity to cause harm to himself or anyone else, they are doing the community a great service.

When the authorities arrested an Easton man for drunk driving, he was transported to police headquarters. The man refused to take a breath test and show his driver’s license when he was pulled over, and it is unknown if he eventually agreed to a blood test. According to police, the man was rather uncooperative and even spat on one of them while he was in custody. However, it is possible that because he was reportedly drunk, the spitting may have been unintentional.

Fortunately, the authorities were able to stop and apprehend the man before he had the opportunity to cause harm to himself or someone else. In addition to the drunk driving charge, the man is also facing serious charges related to his failure to cooperate with the authorities. It is unknown whether the man has any previous DWI arrests.

The penalties for drunk driving are quite severe and may include license suspension and even a jail sentences. For this reason, anyone who has been charged with a DWI offense may want to seek the help of an attorney as soon as possible.
