22 injured in Philadelphia bus and car crash

A routine commute became a terrifying and disruptive life event for 22 people who were injured in an accident in Philadelphia after a white Mazda ran a red light and crashed into a SEPTA bus.

Witnesses said that the car crash threw the bus driver out of his seat and the bus went out of control. It struck three parked vehicles and a street light and slammed into a wall and kept going before a courageous passenger jumped out of her seat and stopped the bus.

Twenty of the bus passengers, and two occupants of the car, were taken to area hospitals for treatment. None of the injuries were life threatening, but victims who were interviewed after the multi-vehicle accident said that the crash was terrifying and that they felt lucky to be alive.

Witnesses did report that at least six people were taken away from the scene on stretchers, which could indicate that their injuries may have been serious.

Regardless of the level of injury, all of the victims of this accident may be entitled to compensation for the injuries they did receive, as well as for their pain and suffering and any lost wages due to time away from work. When any car crash involving injuries happens, the first step should always be to seek appropriate medical treatment. Once that has been take care of, it is advisable for an injured victim to seek the advice of an experienced personal injury attorney who can give valuable legal counsel regarding what rights to compensation the victim may have.
