Pickup hits 2 on motorcycle in Bucks County

Pennsylvania State Police report that an accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Nockamixon Township left two New Jersey residents with severe injuries at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 6. Two other people who were involved were not injured.

According to police, the accident occurred when a 52-year-old man driving a Chevrolet CK1500 pickup truck crashed into a Harley-Davidson motorcycle as the truck driver was entering River Road. The biker was traveling west on that roadway at that time, and the two vehicles collided. The 54-year-old male motorcyclist and his 51-year-old female passenger, both from New Jersey, were both hospitalized according to police. The news source confirmed that the driver of the motorcycle was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital, but the facility did not have records for the passenger. Following the accident, police shut down a portion of River Road while authorities conducted an investigation.

The truck driver and his 51-year-old female passenger, both of whom are New Jersey residents, were not injured according to police. The driver was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way to oncoming vehicles when entering or crossing a roadway.

People involved in motorcycle or car accident may suffer serious injuries that have lasting effects on their lives. Depending on the nature and extent of their injuries, accident victims may face many physical and financial struggles. In cases where the accident seems to have been caused by a careless driver, information from police reports and medical reports could be used to build a case for that driver's negligence in a lawsuit. Personal injury attorneys can assess the viability of potential cases and ensure their clients seek the maximum amounts to which they may be entitled through subsequent civil litigation.
