Workers' compensation in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act requires that workers who are injured on the job or who develop a disease or illness related to their employment receive certain forms of benefits. Pennsylvania trucking accident widow claims wrongful death

A fatal semi-truck accident occurred during the morning of Oct. 4, 2012 in Allentown, and the wife of the deceased is seeking damages of more than $75,000 in a wrongful death action. The lawsuit claims a negligent driver of a big rig caused her husband's death. She also named the truck driver's employers and the companies that contracted the driver's work in the suit for failing to provide better training and supervision.

Pennsylvania woman charged in fatal accident

A woman was arrested and charged on Sept. 24 in connection with a fatal accident in Mahanoy Township on March 29. The woman, whose bail was set at $100,000, is facing charges of drug possession, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle while DUI and various traffic violations.

What are Pennsylvania’s statutory rape laws?

Statutory rape is generally the domain of state law. However, Pennsylvania, along with many other states in the country, does not have any laws that contain the term “statutory rape.” According to the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, these types of sex crimes are instead included in laws that prohibit sexual activity with minors.
