Attorney Gregory Gifford shares an important reminder about auto insurance coverage in Pennsylvania, and we are proud to announce four RGSG attorneys named 2026 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.
Limited Tort vs. Full Tort: Which Coverage Do You Have?
By Gregory Gifford, Esquire
I recently had a client come into my office who had a non-displaced fractured sternum, a very painful injury. However, the client had selected the Limited Tort option on their motor vehicle insurance, therefore making a claim for pain and suffering unavailable. The client was totally unaware that the Limited Tort option had been selected and was very upset by the situation. They immediately contacted their insurance agent to find out how this could have happened. As it turns out, the client’s spouse had selected the Limited Tort option over eight years ago to save about $100 per year.
Do not make this mistake. Check your insurance policy and make sure you have selected the Full Tort option. If you have not, call your insurance agent or send them an email requesting they switch you to the Full Tort option.
