Four serious accidents with injuries and one death have occurred on Route 422 in Pennsylvania in less than six weeks. Each accident involved a large truck.

Winter weather played a role in one accident when a pickup slid on the snowy highway and hit a tractor-trailer in Plumcreek. The man driving the pickup died. Three days before this incident a coal truck hit a school bus and injured four children when snow had reduced visibility. This accident was on the heels of another school bus crash. That school bus driver was badly injured when a tanker truck rear-ended the vehicle.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the most recent accident seriously injured two people and left two more people with minor injuries. In this accident, a tri-axle coal truck driven a 31-year-old male driver rolled onto its side and slid into oncoming traffic. It hit a GMC Sierra 3500 pickup that was subsequently rear-ended by a Cadillac Escalade. State police continue to investigate the cause of this crash.

Some car crashes are found to be caused by negligent actions of one or more drivers.
